Mount Denali (formerly known as Mount McKinley) is amazing enough on its own, but once you’re up in the air on a flightseeing tour, everything below and around you will lead to a jaw-drop moment. Flightseeing from a bush plane or helicopter puts Alaska’s scale on display. You’ll feel tiny. So very tiny. And in awe of the massive glaciers, mountains (even the ones Denali dwarfs), and braided rivers below. Even midsummer, ice rules the world around Denali. Flightseeing is not a cheap way to go, so make the most of it: Opt for a tour that gives you the chance to land on a glacier, slip on some crampons, and tour around. Or consider one that combines the flight with the chance to drive a dog team.
