Locals tell me that Moxie’s, an establishment I'd mistakenly pegged as one of those run-of-the-mill in-house hotel lounges, is the ideal place to do champagne or Mojitos with my significant other.
I’d envisioned a sort of quiet piano bar with candles on the table—you know what I mean.
So I was surprised when I first stepped into Moxie’s. This bar was over-the-top even by downtown Toronto club standards, never mind for a hotel bar out in airport country. And it was absolutely packed on a Wednesday night at 8 p.m. All of which is to say: Moxie's is surely a must-do on the local bar circuit.
Expensive vodkas take a place of honor high above a long bar, and mood lighting illuminates a wine cooler that reaches skyward—the cavernous interior has high ceilings and a hip atmosphere.
