Wherever you are in Hobart, you’re sure to see Mount Wellington’s solid presence looming over the city. Drive up to the Pinnacle on the mountain’s top for magnificent views over Hobart and southern Tasmania, but be sure to wrap up warm: Temperatures are regularly below zero up here, and the wind can be fierce. There’s also excellent hiking on an extensive network of trails and great opportunities for mountain biking, four-wheel-drive excursions and picnicking.
