Mount Cinnamon

Why we love it: A peaceful retreat with a sustainable slant overlooking Grand Anse Beach

The Highlights:
- Spacious villas with private plunge pools
- A strong commitment to the environment and local community
- Daily yoga classes on the beach

The Review:
Romantic and cozy, the 37 villas and suites at Mount Cinnamon are nestled on a leafy hillside overlooking Grand Anse beach and its powdery sand. Inside, modern décor and pops of tropical color contrast with whitewashed stucco and terracotta roofs, bringing a touch of fun to the Spanish colonial-style buildings. While each room offers considerable outdoor space and stunning beach views, villas also come with private plunge pools and airy kitchenettes. The massive Cinnamon Heights villa, which sleeps eight, even has its own infinity pool and Jacuzzi.

If you can bear to leave your room, the resort features a range of entertaining activities, from snorkeling and paddle boarding to tennis, beach volleyball, and giant garden chess. There are also daily yoga classes, either on the beach or in a studio; a sparkling pool and pristine beach; and the Cinnamon Spa, where treatments like hot-stone massages, facials, and body wraps incorporate natural ingredients to soothe the body and mind. When it comes to dining, guests have their choice of Savvy’s for farm-to-table fare, and the Beach Cabana for barbecue, salads, and snacks. In case all the indulgence has you feeling guilty, know that Mount Cinnamon is a Green Globe Certified resort, with an active water conservation and recycling program. The resort also supports the nearby South St. George’s Primary School through its Pack for a Purpose Program, in which guests are encouraged to save room in their suitcases for school supplies to donate upon their arrival in Grenada.
