A Mausoleum Worth Visiting
One of a small amount of similar sites open to non-Muslims, this tomb along the main street in Meknes is a colorful site to behold. A series of ornately tiled and carved antechambers lead you to the tomb of the sultan, where you must remove your shoes and maintain silence as you observe his final resting place. For some of the most magnificent mosaics & brightly colored backgrounds, stop here for photos and a moment of silence for the 17th century Moroccan ruler.
