The Pedra Branca farm is a project with 5 hectares dedicated to biological agriculture developed by a family who moved in 1999 from Lisbon to the village of Monte Gordo near Mafra.
The lands where the farm now is settled was in the past a work place for many of the village inhabitants namely for fruit trees and vines. In 1995, year which is was bought, the property was abandoned.
A lot of hard work and dedication was needed to recuperate the lands of Pedra Branca.
You will get to know up and close the biological agriculture unit at Pedra Branca farm.
We will start off with an explanation on was exactly does biological agriculture consists in, the certification process and the rigorous quality control process.
You’ll then participate in the activities occurring at the farm, from the picking of the products, the cleansing and packaging.
You may also visit the strawberry fields and take the opportunity to feed the farm animals: chickens, ducks, gooses, pigs and bunnies.
