The vines from Quinta Serradinha are produced by the Marques-da-Cruz family, 5 generations of winemakers. The vineyard is situated in the demarcated region of the Encostas D’Aire. The quality of the wines from the region of Leiria had its first historical reference with a strong appraisal from Maria Parda in the writings of Gil Vicente: “… and to the Leireans give them bread, wine and lamp” Start you visit with a visit of the vineyard with an explication on biological agriculture and wines in biological production mode. Learn to distinguish the several castes and discover the regional wine-growing traditions.
Next follow the path of the grapes and enter the wine cellar from the reception of the grapes up to its fermentation. You’ll learn and understand the different fermentation techniques: tonnels, wineries, barrels and amphorae.
During your passage through the wine resting room, you’ll learn about the multiple names, sizes and shapes of the wooden barrels.
There will also be a demonstration and explanation of the resting process of bubbly bottles.
Last but not least, enjoy a wine tasting pause and taste bubbly white, white, rosé and red wines while savouring some delicacies: toasted almonds, raisins, cheese and rice blood sausage.
