Monastery of Sant Feliu de Guíxols
In a village to the south of Palamós, the Monastery of Sant Feliu de Guíxols is a building dating back, in part, to 961. It has been renovated over the years, but still maintains its fortresslike appearance. Two towers flank the monastery: One is a smoke tower, used to send smoke signals when enemy ships approached the town; the other is a horn tower, from which horn signals served the same purpose. Go inside to explore the town’s history museum.
