We got into a small van in Morelia, and rode for almost three hours, until we reached the base of the mountain. Then began a long and winding journey up the mountain, and right at the point where I thought we couldn't possibly get any higher, we were told it was time to get out. We were then given the choice of hiking or riding a horse or donkey. I chose to hike, and after twenty minutes of climbing, all I could see were trees, and I wondered what I had gotten myself into. Then something small flew in front of my face, and I followed it around a curve and into a clearing. Suddenly, I was surrounded by butterflies - monarch butterflies - and it was spectacular.
