No-frills, delicious Hakata ramen in Kyoto
If you’re looking for some good ramen in Kyoto, head to Hakata Nagahama Ramen Miyoshi in Kawaramachi (Kyoto). Hakata ramen is a specific style of Kyushu ramen (Hakata being a ward in Kyushu), with a rich and creamy pork broth and firm, straight noodles with plenty of satisfying bite. This is a little hole in the wall with seats around the counter – no frills and not good for a group. It is, however, the best bowl of ramen you’ll find in Kyoto, and completely worth the trip. Best part: it’s open all night.
