Texas A&M University has one of the best astronomy programs in the nation, with its Mitchell Institute leading the way for research, technology and development. The astronomy program hosts bi-monthly star gazing parties on the Texas A&M campus that are open to students, residents, and non-residents alike. Located either on the Simpson Drill Field (which is most often used by A&M Corps of Cadets), or in front of Sbisa Dining Hall (the largest dining hall on campus), the parties feature portable telescopes and approachable instructions for a social—and educational—night under the stars.
