Mission Dolores was founded in 1776 and is the oldest intact building in San Francisco. The building houses an active catholic church. But what I found most interesting was the cemetery.
The cemetery pays tribute to the first nation Miwok's who were the original citizens. But there are also gravemarkers for other notable people who were instrumental in the development of SF as a major city.
The cemetery is moody, quiet and a creepy sort of oasis in what is otherwise a very busy neighborhood.
