Canal Streets And Sea Turtles On The Beach in Tortuguero Costa Rica
In the north eastern corner of Costa Rica is a special place called Tortugero. This is yet another unique ecosystem within diverse Costa Rica. Here the streets are water canals and the lifestyle feels very intertwined and harmonious with the beautiful surroundings. One of the draws to the area is the Sea Turtles that lay their eggs here from July through October. I went on a night tour and saw from a respectable and hidden distance these great Green Sea Turtles make their sand nest and lay their eggs. If you desire to go on a similar tour I encourage you to look for a tour that is supported by the attached webpage as I saw that some night tour guides were sadly less respectful of the sea turtles space. If you visit during the turtle nesting period I strongly encourage booking your lodging in advance. Even without the sea turtle sighting Tortuguero is special place worth a visit through its canals and into its community.
