Milwaukee Art Museum

Wings Over Lake Michigan
If nothing else, the Calatrava architectural features of the Milwaukee Art Museum are well worth the visit. The wings open at 10:00am daily, and look like a phoenix rising from Lake Michigan.

Thankfully, the art inside the museum is equally impressive and enjoyable. My uncle was my date to the museum when I went, and we enjoyed making a day of it. Georgia O'Keeffe was on show and the museum often has exhibits of that caliber. The permanent collection is diverse and unique, highlighting American, Haitian and European artists among others.
