The Logan Square Café in Sister Cities Park is a highly recommended pit stop for tourists with kids. Let’s start with the park itself – Sister Cities Park is adjacent to Logan Square where two of Philly’s most popular family attractions are located (the Academy of Natural Sciences and the Franklin Institute). The plaza in the park has a fun fountain, a playground, and a children’s discovery garden. Inside the building are both a family-friendly café and an official City of Philadelphia Visitor Center. The Visitor Center is staffed seven days a week and sells tickets for area attractions and tours, and also can provide maps and brochures. The café offers many inexpensive options for breakfast and lunch and the coffee and baked treats here are some of the best in the city. (I am a regular customer!)
A special Winterfest for kids takes place in Sister Cities Park in December.
The beautiful building in the background is the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, the head church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
