Don't get confused by the name. Memphis's Midtown Bike Co. is, in fact, located in Downtown. But according to the city's former cycling reputation, it's a wonder the store is located anywhere in the city.
Just a few years ago, Memphis was considered one of the worst cities for cycling in the country. But a recent explosion in the number of bike lanes, not to mention a growth in the number of trails around the community, has made Memphis a bike-friendly community. And the Downtown hub is at Midtown Bike in the South Main Historic Arts District.
Need your bike repaired or a new part? Midtown Bike has it covered. The store's hardwood floors and exposed brick walls are filled with new bicycles and equipment.
Just be careful on Main Street. In front of the store, the trolley tracks have been known to cause a few bicycle spills—I mean, not that I would know from experience, or anything.
