Camping Under The Milky Way near Los Angeles? Yes!!!!!!
Does the title not say it all? Yes, you can see the Milky Way just barely an hour outside of Los Angeles, one of the most light polluted areas on the planet. Yeah. You can camp or hike among the pines at McGill Campgrounds, spend the day hiking above 8000 feet, and breathe fresh mountain air. Then at night, lean back and relax. Take the top off that tent or just lay back anywhere and check out the glorious Milky Way. Go when the moon is not out, and go during the summer for the best views of the Milky Way. Hint: it gets a little chilly at night, so bring a jacket for the night time.
