Nostalgic Restaurant Makes Ample Ration For Deliciousness
There are themed restaurants that have clear appeal and others that are less obviously enticing. This new venue, modeled on the post-war years when rationing was part of daily life for the Vietnamese, falls into the second camp. Nevertheless, the Hanoian ability to make the best of very little is apparent in the flavorful dishes found here. With staff wearing the uniforms of the old state-run food shops and meals doled out in exchange for food tokens, the nostalgia here is expertly pitched and has plenty of substance.
