A Mask for Every Face
The Mask museum displays a huge collection of masks from Mexican traditional dances and festivals. The masks are crafted by local artisans in their towns and used only for 1 festival before they are typically sold or destroyed. The museum itself is fascinating and definitely worth the uphill trek. In addition to the museum, there is a shop where you can purchase some of the older pieces that are no longer up on the museums' walls. It's also connected to the Casa de la Cuesta bnb which looked very nice and was cooking breakfast when we arrived. Totally worth the visit....
