Every day we saw something different. I would definitely recommend at least a 3 day safari. We were able to see the big five (elephant, rhino, leopard, lion, buffalo) and then some. Simply spectacular!
A hidden lioness
The Masai Mara Game Reserve is one of the best places on earth to safari and to spot lions in the wild. The Great Migration, known as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, is a must see. This photo was taken while our vehicle was parked watching a pride of lions in the park. It captures the essence of what safari is all about - spotting the mystical wildlife of Kenya in its natural habitat. Nothing is more beautiful than seeing a lion or lioness up close. I love this photo because the lion so easily blends in with her surroundings that it is easy to see why she rules the animal kingdom.
Neck and Neck
Have you ever seen two giraffes fighting? Male giraffes establish dominance and attract mates via combat, using their powerful necks as weapons. The winner of the neck fight gets the girl! The intense thudding of their necks as the bash into one another is jarring to those safari guests intrepid enough to get a closer look.
