After picking up a fantastic batch of fresh haggis to go with our fish and chips in Stromness we made our way north to Marwick Head.
Upon reaching Marwick Head - a beautiful tower situated atop impressive cliffs - we walked along the cliff tops in search of a proper picnic spot.
It didn't take long before we found a small outcrop of stone which allowed us to dangle our feet over the edge while enjoying our haggis, fish and chips.
Not only were the cliffs themselves both beautiful and massive, but the lack of a fence made it easy to enjoy them fully. As an added perk it was puffin season and we were able to watch them as they went about their business or relaxed in their nests along the cliffs.
It is a magical place that embodies why I fell in love with the Orkney Islands.
