Martinho da Arcada
Praça do Comércio 3, 1100-148 Lisboa, Portugal
Martinho da ArcadaFor a true Lisbon experience, and a chance to taste a couple of very tasty Portuguese dishes head to the oldest restaurant in Lisbon, the Martinho da Arcada, located in the arcades along the Praca do Comercio, overlooking the Tagus River. The restaurant was founded in 1782 and is one of the most iconic cafes and restaurants in the city. The experience of eating outside is more casual, inside is really ideal. One of us enjoyed a wonderful and fragrant pork and clams prepared Alentejana. Delicious. I had an extremely tasty Polvo Lagareiro (octopus with potatoes and vegetables). We had to go back a few days later for a repeat. Recommended for lunch, dinner, or just have a glass of wine and sit and people- or river-watch.
