Fast food doesn't really exist in Haiti. I don't mean junk food, mind you. Domino's Pizza has a couple of outlets in the Port-au-Prince area, while local franchise Muncheez is to Haiti what McDonald's is to the U.S.
No, what I really mean is that it's hard to find a place where you can grab 'n go eats of any truly edible and enjoyable quality. The best meals are prepared, served, and enjoyed slowly, the typical lunch or dinner stretching several hours.
When I'm in a rush, though, Cafe Cho is the only choice.
Located just off the check-in area of the main lobby at the Marriott Port-au-Prince, the stylish cozy snack bar is always stocked with a selection of freshly-made sandwiches, pastries, fruit salads, and desserts.
Definitely do not miss out on the coffee here. Espresso, Cappuccino, iced, or plain old straight up black, local favorite Rebo Coffee will have you energized for whatever the day brings you in Haiti.
