A super-sweetened mojito enjoyed poolside beneath swaying palms in the Caribbean – could anything be more cliche?
All over the islands, sub-standard versions of one of the world's most common rum cocktails are consumed astride swanky pools like this.
There's nothing common about the mojito-pool combo here, though. This is the Marriott Port-au-Prince. That's Port-au-Prince, as in the capital of Haiti, a place where your typical traveler might expect you'd find neither swanky pools nor mojitos of any kind.
Here, though, the pool is plenty fine (as you can see), and if you happen to find yourself here on a Tuesday night, the mojitos are even better.
Every Tuesday evening, the property hosts Mojito Night at the pool bar from 6P-10PM. The mojito menu changes each week, with one of seven different variations of the cocktail – all created by the hotel's talented bartenders – seeing time in the spotlight and satisfying guests.
