Functional Art Find in Haiti
The beauty inherent in the art of Haiti is nice, but when you can combine that beauty with functionality, then you truly have something special. This chandelier that I found hanging in the Great Room at The Marriott Port-au-Prince is a prime example.

The elegance of the light fixture perfectly matches that of the Great Room itself, an unlikely combination of cow horns and crystals coming together in a stunning testament to Haitian artistic ingenuity.

Produced by celebrated Haitian artist Karine “Cookie” Villard, the wonderfully creative chandelier stands out among the impressive collection of functional and decorative local art found throughout Haiti's newest hotel.
