Visiting the Market
I love India--the colors, the people, the sheer aliveness of the place. On one of my trips, I visited the relatively undiscovered state of Orissa in northeast India. Somewhere near Puri, there was a lively marketplace and it is here that I took this picture of a woman weighing out someone's purchase. The colors of the vegetables, the woman's clothes and the wall behind her combined reminded me of why I always mention "color" when I talk about India.
