Italian-Inspired in the Bywater
Chef Ian Schnoebelen made a name for himself (and earned a Best New Chef nod from Food & Wine) with Iris, originally located in a tiny Creole cottage in Uptown, and now thriving on the ground floor of the Bienville House Hotel. His latest venture, in a cool, industrial space in the Bywater, was inspired by his inaugural trip to Italy. But while the menu, which includes house-cured salumi, pizzas, pastas, and meats, is more constrained and less eclectic than at Iris, fans will recognize that this isn't a complete departure from the sort of ingredient-driven food chef is best known for.
