Marfa's Moment
Don’t be surprised to meet a New Yorker or two in tiny Marfa, a West Texas town (population: 1,981) that’s become extremely popular for its arts scene. Check out Ballroom Marfa, a non-profit that features works by living artists that are pushing the fine art, musical, film and performance boundaries. The Chinati Foundation, founded by Donald Judd, has many of his minimalist works, as well as rotating, large-scale exhibits featuring pieces like neon works by Dan Flavin, and crushed cars by John Chamberlain.
