Make a Reservation for the Chicken
If you say "Ma'ono" to a Seattle
local, you might get a blank look — but try "the fried chicken place that used to be Spring Hill," and you'll get a nod of recognition. Back when it was Spring Hill, their weekly fried-chicken nights were so massively popular that the owners decided to make that the new focus. Along with their famous fried chicken, you can choose from an impressive whiskey bar and Hawaiian specialties. When you make reservations, also reserve a chicken ($38, feeds up to 4), because they only prepare a small quantity each night. A piping-hot mountain of chicken arrives with a jar of kimchi and a bowl of rice; add on Hawaiian rolls with dripping-infused butter for a stomach-stretching feast.
