Limón Province, Manzanillo, Costa Rica
ManzanilloThink of your daily commute. Whether you're on a bus, train, subway, or in a car stuck in traffic, how many human beings do you see around you? You will encounter fewer people than that in an entire day when you visit the tiny town of Manzanillo. Since so few venture this far south, people can claim vast expanses of white sand for themselves all morning and afternoon. Tan to the sound of gentle waves, take a dip in the warm water, and buy a fresh fruit juice or empanada from a local vendor to complete your beach fantasy. While there are a few hostels, bars, and shops on the main drag, most people take a car or bus when venturing to this, the sleepiest of sleepy towns.
