Manoir Hovey

From Montreal, it’s only an hour and a half drive up to picturesque Lake Massawippi. We send clients to the Manoir Hovey, an inn which was built as a home in 1900 and is based, loosely, on the design for Mount Vernon. The inspiration is perhaps appropriate, given that Lake Massawippi was long a popular summer destination with Americans, and especially Southerners. Today, the rooms at the Relais & Chateaux property are a mix of traditional and contemporary, while the restaurant serves amazing food. Upon landing at Sherbrooke Airport, we’ll head to our home for the next three nights, the Relais & Châteaux Manoir Hovey. Built in the Georgian colonial style and modeled after George Washington’s Mount Vernon home, Manoir Hovey is guaranteed to transport guests to a simpler time. The 37-room inn overlooking Lake Massawippi was originally built as a private residence in 1899 and has not lost any of its coziness since being converted to a hotel. One of the most charming and romantic inns in the Qúebec area, the Manoir has breath-taking views of Lake Massawippi. Its expansive covered terrace is the perfect spot to enjoy morning coffee before we head out on our bike riding adventures!
