Wood ready for burning
In Varanasi, India, wood is piled high for burning bodies at Manikarnika Ghat, where Indians come to be cremated on the banks of the Ganges River. Workmen chop wood and pile it high as the sounds of music and chanting, and the small of acrid smoke drifts through the air.
