Manchester Cathedral

Victoria Street

Once upon a time England was a Catholic country; that was until King Henry VIII wanted a divorce and the pope said “nope!” So the king started his own religion and turned the Catholic churches and cathedrals into Church of England places of prayer. The cathedral is in the Gothic style and was started in the 1400s. It has had face lifts over the years, especially in the last century when it suffered from the Luftwaffe bombs. The cathedral feels more like a church than a cathedral and to me, the choir part feels like something out of a Harry Potter movie.

Very "Harry Potter" looking

The Cathedral of Manchester turned out to be more impressive than I had expected. The hightlight of this centuries old impressive structure is the choir. It looks like something right out of Hogwarts where Harry Potter may have sat during his lessons in potions.
