It’s been said that one of the best ways to judge a Thai restaurant is by the quality of its Tom Ka Gai soup. If that’s truly the case, then Malee’s Thai Bistro is one for the history books. It’s been on the Scottsdale dining map since 1987 and their version of the traditional soup is velvety from the coconut milk broth, and just the right balance of hot and sour. The Pad Thai here is one of the best in town, too, but if you want something out of the ordinary try the tropical pineapple noodles. They’re mixed together with shrimp, mussels and scallops, and served in a fresh pineapple boat.
