Museu de Arte, Arquitetura e Tecnologia
Lisbon's newest and one of its most striking attractions, the MAAT stands proud along the waterfront in Belém, a vision of UK-based architect Amanda Levete that takes interactive to a whole new level. Visitors are free to stomp all over the arching low-rise structure – the roof is designed to be walked on – while its scaled façade reflects a shimmering glow off the river Tejo, specially at sunset (an Instagram hit!). Along with the already existing building (a contrasting red brick 1900s industrial age power station to which it is connected via garden walkway by Lebanese architect Vladimir Djurovic), the museum hosts an array of revolving exhibitions true to its name in addition to the fascinating inner workings of the Tejo Power Station.
