Pleasure House Oysters in Virginia Beach
Virginia Beach and the Chesapeake Bay were historically a haven for oysters until pollution and a series of viruses decimated the population in the 1980s. Thanks to conservation efforts and the hard work of a handful of dedicated watermen, oysters are back in Virginia Beach in a big way. Pleasure House Oysters is at the forefront of the oyster renaissance in Virginia Beach, you can join them on one of three tours to get an in depth look at a working oyster farm as well as sample some of the Chesapeake's favorite bivalve straight from the water.
