After Lady Bird's death in 2007, the home at the LBJ National Park was gradually opened to guided visits with National Park Rangers. Most of the rooms of the house evoke the "Mad Men" era, having been restored to the décor when LBJ was president (1963-69). Check out the multiple phone/TV installations, LBJ's pre-internet version of staying connected. The bedrooms retain the design from after LBJ’s retirement. Remember that LBJ himself said about his house, "All the world is welcome here."
