Luz Houses, a refuge where you breathe tranquility, in the center of Portugal
Luz Houses is in the middle of the forest. It’s about an hour by car from Lisbon and very close to Fátima, the catholic city in Portugal. However it’s not mandatory to be catholic nor will you see anything related to Catholicism at Luz Houses.
Here you are entitled to relax, the only noise you might hear is the sheep baa and meh. But they are quite friendly.
The houses represent different construction periods and were built taking in consideration the traditional architecture of the region, however they are not an exact copy. The rooms are fabulous; some beds have a lace curtain, giving to the rooms a touch of romance and intimacy.
The decoration is full with details: a clothes rail made of pipes, beds placed on top of trunks, writings on walls and doors, that will make you laugh and smile.
And there is plenty to do around: only 45 minutes away is the fishing village of Nazaré, the Convent of Christ in Tomar is around 30 minute drive and after a 10 minute walk you can reach the Sanctuary of Fatima.
However if you prefer staying at Luz Houses, you also have many choices. They can prepare you a picnic and you can walk or bike into the woods in search for a nice spot. Or you can just relax and read a book in the living room or in your room. For a wonderful relaxation, just book a massage, you will have a surprise when you see the site of massage…more I won’t say.
