Luvey n Rose is set in a beautifully restored old, pink, three story building in the historic Bo Kaap neighborhood. This newcomer is part coffee shop, part art gallery, part antique shop, part artist's residence. It's a charming, quirky, creative and a wonderful place to have an exotic, caramel red bush tea, almond croissant, or highly addictive home made fudge. Filled with an eclectic mix of old and new, everything is for sale—from the art pieces on the walls to the art deco armchairs and silver cutlery. Sink into the massive sofa and read the morning papers, hide away in a dark corner for a secret rendezvous, sit at the big wooden table and play a game of backgammon or enjoy the feel of the sun on your face in the cool little outdoor space. It's also open 7 days a week (pretty rare in sleepy Cape Town!). I'd love to keep this a secret, but I want to show it off even more! A real hidden gem.
