Bia-o’clock in Hanoi
As a former resident of Vietnam, I’ve lost track of how many bia ho’i bars I’ve spent evenings at around Hanoi. For me, they are by far the best place to drink in the city, and not simply because they are cheap! Each bar is usually buzzing, chocked full of local characters and interesting travelers, perched on tiny plastic stools, people-watching right on the sidewalk within touching distance of the traffic whizzing by – always a fascinating way to spend an evening!
