“So Many Reasons to Love Luckenbach”
There’s a reason why Waylon Jennings wrote his 1977 hit song about Luckenbach, Texas: it’s one of those small Texas towns loaded with charm, cold Shiner Bock beer on a hot summer day and plenty of two steppin’. In this Lone Star map dot that consists of only a post office, a general store, a bar and a country dance hall, every weekend there’s the Luckenbach Pickers Circle, an outdoor gather-round-the-campfire kind of musical event, where musicians from around Luckenbach and all over come with their guitars, their fiddles, and their voices. You can come to play, to sing along, to dance, or just to take in the festivities.
