As popular as the beaches around Fort Myers and Sanibel are, you can always find an empty and secluded spot to lay out your beach towel. The area's most romantic beach is in the aptly named Lovers Key State Park, which stretches for over two miles on the southern end of Fort Myers Beach. Stroll along the boardwalk to reach this little bit of paradise or hop aboard the tram that shuttles beach goers almost all the way to the sand. Once you arrive, it's all about enjoying the natural beauty of the barrier island, where the waters gently lap the sand, bringing with them beautiful seashells from the Gulf of Mexico. If you want to do more than just relax on the beach, there's a concession here that runs kayak tours and rents bikes, canoes, paddleboards, beach chairs, and umbrellas.
