Only one place in Barcelona is home to hamburgers named Iggy Pop, Stray Cats and Sonic Youth -- Louise Se Va, a little bar tucked away a block or so from Plaza Eivissa, the heart of a small neighborhood in Barcelona known as Horta. The bar has menus in English, but few tourists make it this far outside of the city center. If you do decide to voyage to the outskirts, the burgers at Louise Se Va won't disappoint. Our favorite is the Iggy Pop, a burger with cheese, green peppers and chorizo. Another great choice is the Stray Cats, a burger with cheese, bacon and a fried egg. Louise Se Va is a great place not only for the type of burgers they sell, but also because their burgers are 100% beef, an aspect that can be hard to find in Barcelona's burgerdom. Many restaurants, including locations on the relatively annoying horde of "Best Burgers in Barcelona" lists, use patties made from a mix of pork and beef. Not a good combination for Westerners looking for an authentic burger experience! Louise Se Va is also a fantastic location because it's usually packed with locals from the surrounding neighborhoods.
