Los GalgosCafé culture in Buenos Aires means leisurely sipping café con leche, reading the newspaper, and, naturally, eavesdropping on adjoining tables’ conversations. Opened in 1930, the classic porteño café Los Galgos had long been a favorite spot for neighborhood residents until it was closed and gutted, leaving regulars devastated. It sat empty until a pair of successful restaurant owners purchased the historic bar and painstakingly sought to restore it to its former glory, even hunting down the original wood paneling that had been sold at auction. The menu has been updated to include traditional dishes, and the café hosts live music most evenings.
