Exploring Ireland on foot
From the time you arrive in Ireland you'll be rewarded for every step you take rambling. Pick a lane and explore the towns like Dublin, Galway and Cork, where you never know what surprise—whether historic, fanciful or refreshing—will lie around a corner. In the countryside your options are endless. In County Clare, the walk to Loop Head from Kilkee is likely to be one of the most beautiful afternoons you'll ever spend. In County Sligo you can trace the footsteps of Yeats, in Glendalough you can follow the footsteps of kings, and west of Westport you can journey with the visions of St Patrick. Ireland's dense network of tourist offices means that suggestions for good walks for a few hours or less are easy to get.
