Reconnecting with Nature at Tofino's Top Lodge
After two days in Victoria, it was time to take the long but scenic drive to Tofino. I soon learned that Tofino is one of the best places to watch storms from the cozy comfort of your room. While we had nothing but sunny weather (something I'm very happy about!) I can imagine that storms are just as captivating to watch here as the vibrant sunsets.
I spent two nights at the Long Beach Lodge Resort and enjoyed every minute of it. My stay coincided with a wellness retreat that was taking place at the property. I had the chance to meet and learn from fitness expert Michele Shorter of The Shorter Approach.
Unlike other beachfront properties I've stayed at around the world, Long Beach Lodge Resort is literally steps from the waterfront. From the balcony in my room, I could not only see the waves close up, but I could hear the sounds of them crashing against the sand. It's something I've never experienced before and one I won't soon forget.
While much of my time was spent outdoors kicking my butt into shape, I did get to explore downtown Tofino as well as the hotel's luxurious lounge near reception. Another perk of staying here is the food. Breakfast yogurt and granola are served in shiny Champagne flutes and tables face the ocean for an inspiring view. All in all, it was the perfect spot to rest, relax and rejuvenate.
