While its claim to be the country’s first-ever pizzeria has been contested, nobody disputes that the wood-fired, thin-crust Neapolitan-style pies dished up at this NoHo corner joint are some of the city’s most delicious. If there’s a queue of diners waiting for a table, don't be discouraged. The pizzas here are well worth the wait.

Lombardis Pizza, New York. Rated best in the world!
It really was good and well worth the hour-long wait. Lombardis is always pretty packed, but its got a great atmosphere to wait around in. The powdery crust, cooked to perfection, fine tomatoes, and delicious cheese...its my kind of pizza, and seems to be just about everyone else's too.
