I was hesitant about snowshoeing in the beginning. Would it be lame? Would the shoes be awkward? Would I get bored?
Turns out...I LOVE this winter activity! It is a great way to get out and PLAY when Montana is covered in the white stuff.
My husband and I found out that there is a snowshoe trail up Lolo Pass, just across the Idaho border. We figured we would give it a try one Saturday. It was either that or watch another movie...and fellow Montanans understand that there are only so many winter movies to be viewed before it is time for a change! After this awesome experience, we were officially hooked!
This particular trail starts with a fairly steep incline up to a summit with STUNNING views! Eventually, the trail heads back down to flat land where snow-covered creeks surround you. Such a unique perspective of this Idaho forest!
I regret that I did not try snowshoeing sooner. So, this winter be sure to rent some shoes for an adventure that will not disappoint!
