This Costa Rican Snack Shouldn't Be Legal
You go to Locanda for three things: a sublime beachfront location with a solid table taxonomy, frozen margaritas (strong, and bracingly acidic—no syrup here), and a fried tortilla and dip plate that is deceptively simple and absolutely addictive. The tortillas balloon into crispy pockets, which you load up with spicy pico de gallo and fresh guacamole. As for those tables, there are traditional ones that are recessed and therefore more restaurant-y, followed by a layer of shaded tables anchored in sand, followed by palm-covered beach beds with side tables just big enough for a margarita and your book.
