Quite literally across the street from flagship restaurant Pollen Street Social, Chef Jason Atherton has an interesting spot, Little Social. Local seasonal British inspired dishes served in dark wood, ox blood banquettes booth. Tradition is at play here in the ambiance but on the plate, it is a delightful modernist cuisine without it being too experimental.
The three-course pre-fix for £25 was a delight. I started with Black figs, truffled honey, cob nuts & burrata (I want to replicate it at home, perhaps even improve upon it a little). Follow up with roasted cod, cannellini beans, fennel, Morteau sausage, girolles, jus gras and top it off with Burnt cream, pêche de vigne, crumble, which I found slightly too sweet but that is what the double shot espresso is for.
